is adopting a child

We have BIG news!

We are adopting a baby this year!

Jack and I knew we were going to adopt before we even got married. I especially have always had a huge passion for newborn babies needing loving families, so it was something that we just knew would be in our future!

We both assumed that we would have all of our biological kids before looking into adoption, but God changed our hearts this year. The desire to adopt a baby hit my heart swiftly and deeply this year, and He has been revealing to us over and over again that there is a baby out there that needs us NOW, not later. Through lots of prayer and discussion, we decided that we couldn’t just let this go. God is asking this of us, and though there are a ton of unknowns, we want to obey Him!

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $40,000 or even more! Thankfully, God is so much bigger than the cost of adoption, and we know that He will provide exactly what we need to bring this sweet babe home.

We ourselves will be doing our best to save up as much as we can for the extra expenses such as travel, a place to stay while we wait to come back home, baby supplies, our home study and more. We are cutting back on anything extra to try and save a little bit at a time! It is SO humbling to be in a place where we have to ask for support financially. I don’t typically like asking for help(but really, who does?), especially when it comes to finances. BUT, we know that it will take the love and support of friends and family to raise our baby, and that includes bringing him or her home to us. We are trusting in God’s provision, and we can hardly even wait to see the amazing ways that He provides for us in this journey!

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. We are SO thankful for all of you, and any support whether through finances or prayer is deeply appreciated.
