Dustin Mier

is adopting a child from United States of America

When we first began our adoption journey we underestimated the challenges we would face. We experienced many highs, lows, doubts, and fears along the way. Thankfully, we pressed on through it all. During that long stretch of the journey we had no idea what amazing miracles were awaiting us. In October of 2013 Hezekiah joined our family. Feeling called to adopt again, we began our path to a second adoption in February of 2015. This time we realized that fund raising was necessary as domestic adoption runs between $30-36,000. Donations from friends, family, church-family, colleagues, acquaintances, even people we have never met, made it possible. Dustin began selling his woodworking and Erica took side teaching and tutoring jobs. We had yard sales, online sales, beef and beers, jamberry sales and more. “Our Village,” rallied around us making it financially possible to welcome Ezra in September of 2016, making us a family of four. We are extraordinarily blessed by the honor of raising Hezekiah and Ezra. These boys bring such great joy on a daily basis. They are the answer to so many prayers.

Now, in late January of 2018, we feel called once more to move in the direction of adoption. The financial mountain of a hurdle again seems insurmountable but this just shows a lack of faith… or memory.

We will need to raise the first $15,000 before we officially “begin” adoption number three. The journey to adoption number three begins now. Thanks for traveling with us.

Much love.
Dustin, Erica, Hezekiah, and Ezra
