Will Neville

is adopting a child from China

On Tuesday, November 24, 2015, my wife and I were visiting a small orphanage in Fuzhou China with our now first adopted child, Hu Rong Li or what we’ve come to call her, Lizilove Li. This place was all she knew from her five years of existence and memories; a small room with a window view that overlooked some crumbled buildings; three little girls all of which were also special needs; the staff which included her Momma and Bobba along with a handful of other inspirational people ranging from young foreign missionaries to Chinese workers who decided to devote their lives to helping this little girl in need and other children there in a big way. We were touched in such an indescribable way by our first adoption by all of this and the sequence above was just a small montage of the journey we went through to get her. We were fully immersed in humility and the remnants of that experience still burn deeply our hearts every day.

Fast forward two years and we are on another incredible journey. Little did we know that the very day we visited the orphanage, Lizilove’s best friend had greeted us in that tiny room. A chubby little, bright-eyed girl with long hair, that Lizilove fell in love with over the course of 5 years had now captured our hearts. She along with all the children in that orphanage are special needs. She is deaf in one ear and 60% deaf in the other but oh so smart. She uses sign language to communicate with her 7 little fingers on one hand and 6 on another! You see, there was a verbal language barrier for the first year Lizlove was home but there was a single word she said constantly in every unclear sentence; We understood it as EwwBee for over a year but what she was really saying was Yu Bing which is her best friends name! When we discovered this it made our hearts melt even more thinking about the day these little girls say had to say goodbye forever.

Today, we race against the clock trying to raise funds to bring Bing home from China. We need to raise $32,000 to adopt her by February and so far we have paid $7K of that ($5K out of pocket and $2K through various other fundraisers and donations). We are projecting another $6K out of pocket by February. So that leaves us with around $19K to raise. We are in the process of applying for several grants like A Child Waits Foundation, Chosen and Dearly Loved, and Lifesong for Orphans to name a few but those are never a guaranteed. Obviously we cannot do this alone so are asking for help from our friends, family, and any anonymous donators with a heart for adoption. Through your donations we help a child in need, reunite these two little girls and make Yu Bing a permanent part of our family…forever!

Thank you for your support during this journey!

Sincerely,
The Neville Family
