Brittany Yelverton

is adopting a child from United States of America

We're beyond excited to be getting married in December, and because we're big planners, we're also thrilled to start preparing to build our little family!

That's right - we're planning to begin the adoption process in the near future and we're getting a head start. Instead of creating a gift registry and accepting several exceptionally thoughtful blenders and Crock Pots, we're graciously accepting people's support to help cover the costs of our adoption agency application, documentation preparation/authentication, home study, legal fees, etc.

When we first talked about the life we wanted to build together, the idea of having a child, and specifically adopting that child, was something we were exceptionally excited about. We were incredibly lucky to grow up with parents who loved us deeply and provided a safe, supportive, and joyous home. However, we know that not every child has that experience.

Throughout his life, James heard stories of how difficult it was for his father to grow up in the foster care system. And Brittany met many of the children who her mother, a social worker, provided guidance and support for during their time in the system. These experiences provided the keen understanding that families can be created is so many different ways.

And when 2016 came around and Brittany experienced some pretty significant health challenges, it became clear that adoption is absolutely the healthiest, safest, and most meaningful option for us.

So here we are! We're reaching out to the family, friends, and community that we love dearly to ask for your support on our adoption journey. We appreciate you immensely and are so honored to have you as part of our chosen family!
