BIG NEWS: WE'RE ADOPTING!!!
The last 3 summers our family has hosted orphans from Ukraine. We have learned about the staggering statics of the orphan crisis in Ukraine, but after our 2nd summer we felt that we had completed our service and were done with hosting. With our first grandchild on the way, one graduating from college, two graduating from high school and our youngest about to turn 16 we felt like it was time to move on to the next phase of our lives, but God had other plans. Last January we learned about 3 orphaned sisters living in the conflict zone of far Eastern Ukraine. The oldest was almost 16 and would age out of the orphanage soon. This was her last chance to be hosted and hopefully find an adoptive family to keep the girls together. We sought counsel, we prayed, we fasted and we fully felt the weight of our decision. In February we said YES to hosting the girls for the summer, and in March we got to travel to Ukraine to take supplies to their orphanage and meet the girls.

We spent the summer loving on the girls, we worked to instill hope and provide for them, but we knew all along that what they really need is a family. WE ARE ADOPTING!!!
