Andrew and I decided about a year ago that God was calling us to adopt. Through a lot of research and prayer, we decided that we would adopt from the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa. Since then our hearts have been burdened for this country and the children in it. We have recently left our agency and signed on to work with an independent facilitator that lives in DRC. We accepted a referral for a 1 1/2 year old little girl, but lost that referral after about a month when family came to claim her. We were (and still are a little bit) heart broken to lose her. God had a different daughter in mind for us and we&'ve now accepted the referral of a 2 year old little girl named Mima. We can&'t wait to go get her and bring her back to her forever home! Right now we are fundraising to finance the last part of our facilitator and lawyer&'s fees, in addition to our travel expenses. We have a long way to go, but fully believe that God will provide!
