Jennifer Johnson

is adopting a child from United States of America

We have BIG news!

We are adopting a child!

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. We got married in 2015 and knew adoption was potentially part of our new family's plan.

By Jen: I have wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember. I had a life plan by the time I was a teenager. I was going to get married, get a college degree, work for 3 years, buy a house, and then start a family. Unfortunately, due to major medical issues in my early 20s, life just didn't happen that way. After years of medical treatments and after a few months of weekly ER visits, I had a hysterectomy at age 22. I was devastated. I spent many years avoiding baby showers and pregnant folks because I couldn't deal with the intense pain I felt. Over the course of the past 10 years, I have experienced deep healing as I have worked through the disappointment of infertility. Adoption is our first and only choice for building a family together. Though the road will be long, I know it will be worth it when we hold Baby Johnson in our arms!

By Marc: I knew before Jennifer and I started dating that adoption was a dream of hers. When we became part of Fielder Church, whose mission is to adopt/foster 1,000 children in 10 years, I slowly began to realize that God wanted me to spend the next 20 years of my life caring for children who need families to love and support them.

We have decided to adopt a child through Gladney Center for Adoption. We've chosen Gladney specifically because of the amazing care they provide birthmothers. Once birthmothers have made an adoption plan through Gladney, they are cared for by the organization for the rest of their lives. We want nothing less for the woman who will make the hard choice to make an adoption plan for her child and choose us to be her baby's adoptive parents. We look forward to a healthy, open adoption.

As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up and part of God's plan to bring it to fruition.
