Matching Donation FAQ

What are matching donations?

Matching is a type of giving where you match donations that other donors make to the family. This encourages others to donate and helps the family raise more money.

How does matching work?

Select the amount you would like to donate. As other people give, your donation will match theirs dollar for dollar until your donation amount has been used up. This doubles the amount raised for the family and encourages more giving!

Is my donation made up front?

Yes. Your donation to the family will be received through AdoptTogether and released to the family as others give. As supporters donate, your funds are matched to theirs doubling each donation until your donation amount is used up.

Can there be more than one matching donor?

Yes. There can be up to THREE active matching donors at any one time. If a donation is made with three active matching donors, the donation will be matched three times.

What if my donation isn’t fully matched?

If your donation goes unmatched, the family will receive all remaining funds at the end of the campaign. The family will always receive the full amount of your initial match donation that was made.
