Kathryn Berardi

is adopting a child from United States of America

Hello everyone! Thanks for visiting our adoption fundraising page. We have BIG and exciting news!

Michael and I began our journey together in 2012. Within the first 2 years we got married and bought our first house together. The next step in our journey was children. After 3 years of trying and seeing a Reproductive Specialist we found out conceiving our own children was not in the cards for us. We had always talked about how wonderful it would be to adopt and decided this was the path for us.

For the last 10 months we have been in the process of getting our Foster Care license. Well, we are excited to say that we are NOW licensed Foster Care Parents in the state of Illinois! We would like to help children by fostering them or fostering them to adopt. One of our goals is infant adoption.

One of the biggest things that we were shocked to learn was the sheer cost of adoption ($25,000-$35,000). We have been saving hard to try and make this dream of growing a family a reality, but that brings us to one of the more difficult stages: asking for help. Starting this fundraising campaign will help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. We are very excited about the adoption adventure that we are on and are so thankful to each and everyone of you who will support us - big or small.

Both of us have learned that it is love, not blood, that makes a family. We hope that by inviting you into this process you will count yourself as part of the community of loving friends and family we hope to build around our future child as he/she grows up.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Love,

Michael and Katy Berardi

God Bless
