Hello everyone,
Keith and Kristi Caldwell are missionaries serving in Bonne Fin, Haiti, at Hospital Lumiere to help provide medical care to an underserved Haitian community.
A little over a year ago, a beautiful little girl was brought into the Caldwells life unexpectedly. While working in Les Cayes, Haiti, they noticed this little girl receiving very little care and attention. Through conversations with her current caretaker (a distant family relative), they discovered that she was the youngest of 5 children. Her mother and father didn’t have the resources to care for her. Shocked at how little and weak she was, Kristi wanted her husband, Keith, to see her frail state. They found her sleeping on a concrete floor. Her little body covered with sweat, seemingly lifeless and forgotten. Seeing her that day wrecked the Caldwells. They began praying for God’s direction to help this little girl. Prayerfully, they decided to take her in to help her get nourished, and nurse her back to a healthy state. It has been a little over a year now that the Caldwells have been her foster parents in Haiti, and they can't imagine life without her. They are thankful that God has given them this time to not only care for her physical needs, but also welcome her into their family, and shower her with love. She has grown and thrived under their care. The Caldwells have been given the opportunity to adopt this little, beautiful girl, Raphie; so that she can be a permanent part of their family.
