Friends and Family,
We are so grateful for all the support (emotional, financial, etc) that you give us. Many of you know that we have experienced some difficulty in starting our family. We would absolutely love to have children in our lives. Both of us have longed for children for decades. We believe in a Heavenly Father who loves us. We feel strongly that there is a baby out there that needs to be in our home. We are doing everything we can to be prepared to bring that baby home through adoption.
Adoption is expensive. Agency fees, legal fees, living expenses for the birth mother, travel costs, home studies, and other expenses can add up easily to $30,000-$50,000.
It is our goal for Valerie to eventually be a stay-at-home mommy, and it is important to us to adopt with as little debt as possible. We are utilizing every resource we have: applying for grants, using savings, driving for rideshare services when we can, and we even have a fabulous t-shirt fundraiser going.
We feel somewhat uncomfortable asking for money. Some of our very generous friends and family have requested the ability to donate, so we created this format for anyone who would like to contribute to our fund.
The great thing about AdoptTogether is that it is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. These donations are tax-deductible, and will go directly to the agency handling our case. None of these funds come directly to us. We have set a goal of $7,000 through this site.
