We might be crazy, but who cares what the world thinks?! God has put on our hearts to adopt a child from Haiti!
Ever since I (Mandy) became a Christian, God has put Haiti on my heart. I wasn't sure what it was. I thought He was trying to guide me to do missions work there. After two trips to the Dominican Republic spending time with the Haitian children in the sugar cane villages, I still felt a pull for Haiti. This summer I came across a documentary by Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R) about the sex trafficking that goes on in Haiti. I had Ben watch it with me. After watching it and having our eyes opened, Ben said "Why not? Why not adopt? If we can make a difference in one child's life from Haiti, let's do it". So we began to pray about it and really felt God give us peace. We did some research and talked to another family that adopted from Haiti who gave us some wonderful, Biblical advice. We have seen God open doors for us and feel God leading us down the path to adopting. So that is exactly what we are going to do. It will be a long and expensive journey, but it will be well worth it in the end. We are asking for your help in bringing our child home! A Haitian adoption can cost around $40,000.00, with almost half being needed within the first six months! Please prayerfully consider giving to help ease this financial burden.
Your tax deductible donation will help complete our family and will make you part of our family too.
Thank you!
In Christ,
Ben and Mandy Moll
We are getting closer and closer to bringing our daughter home! Tomorrow will mark 4 weeks since her passport appointment. We are anxiously awaiting the email saying her passport, visa, and our exit letter completed. It could be any time now! Once we get the news of those items are completed we can book our flights down to bring her home!
We are so thankful for your support these past 4 years! God has done mighty things through this process and we couldn't have done it with out Him and your help!
As this year comes to an end we wanted to update everyone on some exciting news about our adoption journey. We started the paper work process to adopt from Haiti in 2020 and after almost a year and a half, and many many obstacles, our paper work was officially accepted by the Haitian government in January of this year (2022). This was the start to what we expected to be a 3-5 year wait for us to be matched with a child. But as God has shown us multiple times over the past 2 years, He is in control. After waiting only 6 months we were matched with a sweet 7 year old girl! We have spent the last 6 months getting to know her through video calls. She is a very smart and funny girl. During our phone calls we read stories, draw pictures and she has sang us songs in Creole, French and English. Since traveling to Haiti is extremely dangerous, the IBESR (Haitian Government adoption) performs their interview with adoptive families over a video call now. This interview can take place after the family and child has had time to get to know each other and has completed at least 15 video calls together. The interviews were put on hold for the last couple months during severe unrest and violence in Haiti. We were uncertain that ours would take place this year but in Gods good timing we completed ours yesterday, December 23! The gentleman who performed our interview said he can tell how excited we are to make this girl part of our family and wished us the best of luck. Our next steps include finalizing the adoption and then obtaining a passport for her to be able to come home. We are uncertain of the timeline for this as we have to wait on both the Haitian government and the US government. One thing we are certain of is God is good and in complete control. Please pray for our new family member. Specifically for her safety and the rest of the process to move quickly. And also pray for our family as we prepare to welcome her home, hopefully, next year. Please consider giving to our fundraiser. We are very close to our goal. Thank you everyone who has given so far.
