Diane Sullivan

is adopting a child

Diane and I had always been open to adoption. Providing a good home to needy children was something that moved our hearts. We had seen wonderful and beautiful children when we did ministry in orphanages in Chile, Mexico and Haiti. We have many friends that have adopted. Good friends of ours hosted three orphan girls from eastern Europe in the summer of 2016 through Project 143. Project 143 is a ministry that allows orphans from other countries to get a reprieve from the orphanage and experience life in a family for a few weeks over summer or winter breaks. Our friend shared with Diane about hosting the girls. Diane invited her to bring Lydia, Vashti and Naomi* to shop for free at Trending Upward Thrift Shoppe. Diane manages Trending Upward and wanted to bless these girls. The girls had a great time shopping. Before our friend left with the girls, she told Diane that she wanted to take a picture with her and the girls. Diane stood between the girls and spread her arms around them and that is the moment that Diane heard the Holy Spirit speak to her and say, "I have brought them here for you." That's when we went from being open to adoption…to pursuing adoption. Read more about our journey at https://sullivanplanet.wordpress.com/ *Names changed
