Derek and Mary Tanis

are adopting a child from China

We are so excited and can't wait for Judah to join our family!

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a precious new life into our home. Jude will be such a great little brother to Jet, and Jet will LOVE being a big brother! Just like when we adopted Jet, we are doing a puzzle piece fundraiser to help cover the cost of travel. This time though, instead of using PayPal, we decided to use a crowdfunding site so that any donations received will be tax deductible.

It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. While we hope to be able to cover a good portion of this ourselves, we will still need help to fully fund our adoption. This is why we have set a goal of $5,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

If you are unfamiliar with a puzzle piece fundraiser, this is how they work:
-We have purchased a 252 piece puzzle.
-Each piece "sells" for $20.
-Whoever purchases a puzzle piece (or multiple pieces), we then write their name on the back.
-When each puzzle piece has been purchased and the puzzle is assembled, we will frame it and hang it above Jude's bed. This way, he will always be reminded that he was prayed for, wanted, and loved not just by us, but by all of you who helped bring him home!

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he grows up.
