September 2023 God showed us an opportunity where we could be a blessing to a 9 month old baby boy that just needed more love. We started slowly and took him in on the weekends only from Oct 14, 2023-Dec 2023. Instantly we knew that it was a perfect fit and we wanted to make it official and be his guardians. We went to court January 2024 and we were awarded temporary guardianship. He then was with us 24/7. October 2023 we were awarded permanent guardianship. We have had contact with his biological mom, but nothing consistent, so we knew that the best interest for him was for him to stay with us forever. We were told we needed to wait 1 year from we were awarded permanent guardianship before we can submit adoption paperwork. As soon as we could we did. Now is where you all come in. We are only asking for what we need to “start” the process. The county needs to open a whole new case for the adoption process even though we have an open case with them with the guardianship process. That’s where they are charging us. We are a family of 8, 6 kids, that’s including the now 3 year we want to adopt. We have 3 adult kids, 2 in college, 1 in the airforce, we have a high-school freshman and 4th grader. My husband works full time and I have a part time job. Most of you know how expensive California is and especially right now after the holidays its almost impossible to come up with this money more so because they gave me 30 days to come up with 1/2 or they close the case. Please help us. Anything to get closer to our goal. God bless
