is adopting a child from Sierra Leone

Starting 2019 with some BIG news!

I am adopting this sweet sweet boy!

I first met Lassie three years ago during my first trip to Sierra Leone. During my time living there I began to pray and think about the possibility of adoption. I wrestled with whether I wanted this for me, whether this was what the Lord wanted, whether it was a particular child or just any child. I've always had a heart for teenagers and the potential of fostering, but the Lord always takes us down roads we never expected to be on.

I remember this night in January of 2017 like it was yesterday. Sitting outside my hut with my boy fast asleep on my lap, I prayed for him! I knew in those moments that he was the one I was supposed to go on this crazy adventure for. My prayer is to love this boy with the depths of my soul the way my heavenly Father has loved me. To guide him and raise him up to know the Lord. I pray to be his mom. To love and care for him every day. To put all my personal desires aside and put him first.

This has been a long journey of prayer and the Lord affirming this step in different ways. There is always a lot of unknown when entering the adoption process, but God has taught me so much about hope. No matter what the end of this chapter will look like I trust that my God is in control.

As part of my adoption process, I have started a crowdfunding campaign. Costs related to adoptions can easily total up to $20,000 or more. This is why I have set a goal of $5,000 to help ease the financial burden. These funds will go towards my home study and agency fees. I hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community I hope to build around my boy as he grows up. Thank you for your generosity and for your continued prayers throughout this process!
