In March of 2011, we felt God stirring our hearts about adopting internationally. We began the process of adopting from Ethiopia, Africa, which at the time was supposed to take roughly 9 months. For 3 LONG years we sat on a waiting list, praying we would be matched, until 1 day when we got a phone call saying that our agency was shutting down due to financial reasons. We lost everything! A week later, another agency called us and said that they had heard our story and that they wanted to help us. They had a 3 year old boy in South America that needed a family. We sold our house, our car and everything we could think of to raise the money we needed and after a year, we went down and met our boy! We were in love! We came home while we waited for his paperwork to clear and then we got another phone call. The government had messed up his paperwork and he was not eligible for adoption anymore. We were heartbroken! Since it was their fault, the promised to find us another boy which they did. 1 year later we went & met the 2nd boy. Again, we were in love! However, before we got to court, his birth mom showed up and said that she had changed her mind. Heartbroken doesn't even begin to explain it! For a year we've sat with no answers, until 3 weeks ago when we got a call from a friend called us and said they had just gotten back from Uganda & they knew of a 3 year old boy there who is paperwork ready! However, they need a family that can raise the $ & go get him before mid Feb (because of some changes happening in the country). So, here we are, believing that God has opened this door to finally bring our son home!
