James and I are incredibly excited to formally announce that we will be growing our family through adoption! We just completed our home study here in mid-January and are planning for a domestic adoption within the United States for an infant from newborn up to 12 months old. We want to invite you into this journey alongside us and ask that you consider donating to our adoption fund.
Domestic infant adoption costs roughly $30,000 to $50,000 currently, and we are hoping to fundraise about half of that amount. We chose to partner with Adoptogether for this fundraiser because the donations are tax deductible for you and also go directly toward costs for our adoption in the form of a grant we apply for.
We also wanted to make this fundraiser a little more fun for all of us! So for every $20 you donate to our fund, we will write your family name on the back of a puzzle piece. Once all 1000 puzzle pieces are sold, James and I will assemble the puzzle and glue it together to hang on our wall and remember the family, friends, and community who helped make our adoption possible.
I’m sure most of you have seen through social media, but we wanted to formally post an update here for those who haven’t heard that our adoption of baby boy failed. This was very unexpected as the agency we are working with has a 98% success rate. They informed us that we are their first failed adoption this year and that they are as shocked about it as we are. So we are grieving this loss of what was supposed to be and slowly picking up the pieces to move forward with our adoption plan.
We are now open to match again with another expectant mom, so please pray that this happens soon. We are definitely weary, but with the help of family, friends, and God we have faith that our story to grow our family isn’t over yet. Thank you for continuing to stick with us through this process.
Hi all,
Some of you know already, but we wanted to update those of you who don't that we are close to being matched with an expectant mother in Florida. We are currently the only couple this mom is still talking with and we were able to have a direct phone call with her this past Friday. We are extremely hopeful that this match will happen and we feel very connected with this expectant mom already. She has a deep love for this little baby and we admire her desire to love him well through this adoption plan. (Oh yeah, that's right! Baby is a boy!)
We appreciate all of you who have donated to our fund already, and ask that you would please reach out to family, friends, coworkers, and anyone else that will listen to spread our story and consider donating to help us bring home this little boy. His expected due date is July 12th, so we are up against the clock in raising our funds.
God is faithful though, and will provide for us. We trust in that and appreciate your continued support, prayers, and love for our little family.
