Back in 2018 I was given guardianship of a 5 year old boy who I had been raising since he was 3. His mom and I were friends but she was not in a place to take care of him And his bio dad walked out of his life when he was 2. Since then he has voiced that he wants me to adopt him. Birth mom told him and I she would sign the papers and we agreed to wait until he was 12 because then he could speak for himself and let a judge know what he wants. Her only stipulation bio dad needed to sign his rights away first. Bio dad messaged me and agreed to this but recently blocked me on fb and now I have no way of contacting him. I thought this would be a straight forward process but since bio dad has blocked me I now have to go through courts and have the courts take his rights away. I am reaching out because I am looking to do crowdfunding to raise money for an attorney so that my son can finally get my last name and get his one wish which is to be adopted by me.
