Our family is growing! Our family of 4 will become a family of 8!
We were in the process of adopting a 13-year-old boy from Ukraine when Russia invaded Ukraine. Our adoption and lives were immediately put on hold. Thankfully, our orphanage evacuated to a Central European country on day 10 of the war. We have now been waiting for nearly a year to bring him home.
The positive in all of this is that we were granted permission to visit our sweet boy as soon as the orphanage arrived at their temporary home! We have made several trips to volunteer at the orphanage and have fallen in love with 3 more children! In addition to our 2 homegrown boys, we now proudly call 3 more teenage boys and 1 10-year-old girl ours and we can’t wait for the day that we are all together permanently!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $30,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
