We have BIG news!
We are adopting a baby…AGAIN!
Not quite a year ago we experienced the biggest change, challenge, and blessing of our lives when we adopted our daughter, Aliyah! The process to adopt her was overwhelming in every aspect, but the community we had alongside us and the end result made it more than worth it. So worth it, in fact, that we couldn't wait to do it again.
We have debated over and over again whether or not we would fund raise for this adoption after asking so much from our friends and family (and getting such an amazing responses) such a short time ago. When it comes down to it, adoption related costs can easily total more than $40,000, and, while we're in a better position than we were for our last adoption, we just don't have that much money readily available. More than the money, though, is the community. We were so encouraged by the support of you, our community, during Aliyah's adoption. We love that we have so many ways we can show her as she gets older how loved and wanted she was. We want that more than anything for our second baby.
We believe strongly in adoption. We have seen the huge need for it, we have felt convicted by our beliefs, and we have experienced the beauty of what it brings to our lives. We believe we are a good family that still has so much room in our hearts to bring another child into our crazy lives and love on them. And we believe we have a community of friends and family who can play a huge part in supporting us and helping to make that happen. EVERY adoption story starts with brokenness. The most amazing part of adoption is the beauty and redemption that comes from that brokenness and the part that everyone plays to make it happen.
Thank you all in advance for being a team and support system we're so proud of! We can't wait to see who God brings into our lives and how He does it. And we can't wait to bring you all along for the ride!
