Elizabeth Axe

is adopting a child from United States of America

Hi there!

We have some big news! We are Stephen and Elizabeth and we are thrilled to announce that we are adopting! After being married for 10 years, we felt like we were ready to start our family. Boy was that a big decision for us. All that planning and preparation to feel like we were emotionally ready and stable enough to raise children together came to a halt when we found out that we are unable to have biological children. We were crushed. For our whole lives we had planned for our children that we didn’t have yet. When we say that was a devastating feeling, it doesn’t even do it justice. We felt lost, guilty, angry and heartbroken. So after much discussion with each other and support from our families, we’ve decided to adopt!

We’ve found our passion again for the children we haven’t met yet. We are over the moon to work with a local adoption agency to pursue domestic infant adoption! Scary, hopeful, and unknown are just some of the words that come to mind about this process but so do the words ecstatic, nurturing, fulfilling and loving. Your support means everything to us. To have this wonderful opportunity to experience parenthood, support a birth mother in the most challenging time of her life and serve our community is so exciting for us. It also comes with its challenges and we’ve always loved a good challenge!

Stephen will obviously be one of those fun parents. He loves to play with kids, chase them, spoil them and is mischievous just like the “cool” parent would be. He’s looking forward to teaching his kids everything he knows and can’t wait to become a father. In fact, two weeks after marriage he tried to convince Elizabeth to have a baby. This guy has been ready for 10 long years! Bonus, he’s really great at math for all those late nights when our child has homework.

Elizabeth will be an amazing mother because of her dedication to her family. She can’t wait to teach the baby how to bake cookies and do crafts together one day. She’ll be there to cheer them on as a smother mother does. Elizabeth will have to enforce the rules for Stephen and the baby, but she’ll be really good at it. We have 3 adopted German Shepherds whom are obsessed with her. We all know dogs are a good judge of character, right?

Adoption is hard but it’s so worth it. Everyone on this earth deserves to feel loved and to give love. We want to welcome our baby into a warm, loving environment where we can make memories and cherish each other as a family

We are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of 35,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. If you are able to support us, please do so in whatever way you feel is best. Thank you so much and we can’t wait to introduce you to our new family of three one day soon!
