Hi! We are Joey & Katie Menz and we are currently going through the process of adopting domestically.
After meeting at The College of Saint Rose over a decade ago, we fell in love over sushi and our shared taste in music. We married in the fall of 2013 and currently reside in Saratoga Springs, NY with our chocolate lab, Betty.
Joey is a dedicated Red Sox fan originally from MA and Katie was born into a family of Yankee lovers in upstate NY, but somehow we've managed to make it work :)
Joey works for the NYS Education Department, helping people with disabilities find jobs, while Katie is a Sr. Graphic Designer and local Yoga Instructor.
We decided a long time ago that adoption was something we wanted to do, but we officially began the process in January, 2019. With the love and encouragement of our family and friends, we hope to expand our little family in the near future.
Current status: We've submitted our initial payments, completed all of the paperwork, attended the mandatory trainings and most recently, passed our Home Study. Even though we've been saving up, applying for grants and taking on side jobs, we still have a ways to go (domestic adoption can cost over $40k).
