We are still living in disbelief that a baby is coming and SOON! In 2 weeks or less!! Jordan is so excited and we have loved how much he’s talked about ‘bringing the baby home to take care of for a few days’. It’s a fun reminder that God is faithful and we’re excited about the plans He has for our family. In mid May we had our first in person meeting with the expectant mom and it went so well! She is kind, warm and so brave. We left feeling confident and are looking forward to the next time we will see her! Some of the biggest news that came from that meeting is that baby boy’s due date is August 23 so it’s RIGHT around the corner!
Ever since we brought Jordan home, we had always hoped he’d have siblings and our hope is that those siblings would provide a racial mirror for him in our home. In late 2020 we were approached about a mom who was looking to make an adoption plan and we were blessed to be matched with her. We had a sweet baby boy home with us for 3 days before his mom decided she wanted to parent. Needless to say, that process emptied our emotional bank and our savings that we had been setting aside for another adoption. While we’ve technically been a “waiting family” since that failed adoption, we haven’t heard about any opportunities over the last 2.5 years. We were honestly beginning to come to grips with the possibility of being a family of 3. Through it all, God has still been faithful and we’ve been reminded that He has a plan for our family.
By the time the baby is here in mid August, we’ll need to have $30,000, with half of that amount being due in the next two weeks. For reference, almost half of that amount is set aside to care and support the expectant mom during the pregnancy. We’re thankful to be working with a firm who does a great job with their expectant mom support! Because of the failed adoption, we weren’t sure if we’d get another chance like this and we’re not as financially prepared for this as we would like. It’s always hard to ask for financial help but we are humbling coming before y’all asking for some if you feel led to help us grow our family. If Venmo or cash app is easier that’s great too! @mperea718 or $mperea718 Thank you for walking with us during this crazy journey! We couldn’t do it without each of you for operation #makejordanabigbrother!
