We were so happy to welcome home Hudson Ray Bowers born June 11th. The past 3 months with him have been full of learning experiences. We&'ve learned what it means to be ridiculously tired, inexplicably fascinated by the smallest of movements, perseveringly joyful. Our road to our family was a rocky one with infertility and God remained constant through the process (even when we couldn&'t see or feel him). Adoption has been a journey for everyone involved in this (us, Hudson, our families, Hudson&'s birthmother, and our support networks). Initially, I was fearful about what it would look like to live out the idea of adoption, but now I am excited about growing into this God-crafted family that includes so many supportive and wonderful people. When we talk to Hudson about his story, we talk about what we went through, we talk about what his birthmother did and her bravery and selflessness in making her decision to help us become a family, and above all, we tell him again and again how much he is loved by SO many people. Adoption is love and we are so happy to be a part of God&'s big story!
