It has been a little over 3 years since God brought Sophie into our lives and a lot has changed in that time. Sophie continues to grow and develop - and it is amazing to watch! She can carry on a full conversation with us and is very inquisitive. She loves to spend time with us, read books, paint, listen to and dance with music, and enjoys being outside. We are blessed that Suzanne can continue to stay home with Sophie.
In June 2017 we took a leap of faith as Brian took a new role at work in Merrimack, New Hampshire. We sold our house in Raleigh, packed up the truck and drove north. We rented a house while we searched the area to figure out where we would like to settle down. We have been blessed to be able to purchase a home in a small town on two acres of land on a quiet road. The house needed a lot of work, but it had everything we wanted including 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a fireplace, 2 car garage, full basement, and a shed in the back yard. The finished room above the garage is an added bonus!
Now that we are getting settled into our new house in rural New Hampshire, we are excited to announce that we are pursuing a second adoption! For this adoption we will be working with Bethany Christian Services out of Candia,NH. While their network for domestic adoption is nationwide, we will most likely be matched with an expectant mother in New Hampshire or Vermont. We are currently in the process of putting paperwork together, getting background checks run, and completing the educational component. We are hoping to have all paperwork and the home study completed by early 2019.
We are expecting the overall cost of the adoption to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $25,000. While we have some funds set aside, we are looking to fund raise around $10,000 through Pure Charity and other fund raisers.
We look forward to keeping you updated through our blog so please follow it if you haven't done so already. We appreciate all your prayers and support as we start the adoption process again. Please be in prayer that we meet our deadlines and are paperwork ready by early 2019. Please also be in prayer for the expectant mother that God has planned for us.
With Love,
Brian, Suzanne, and Sophie
