We're so excited to be growing our family through adoption! We've been planning and saving and praying for this day for years now, and we're so happy it's finally here. But while we've been cutting corners and saving for years now, we're nowhere near being able to bring our baby home. The average adoption costs over $40,000, which is four times more than the average cost to have a baby. If you aren't familiar, here's a breakdown of why adoption is so expensive:
- Adoption Agency Services (social worker's time, counseling, home visits, and coordinating between adoptive families and birth families)
- Birth Mother Expenses (medical bills, travel, living expenses, and variable costs)
- Legal Expenses (court fees, government administrators, legal processes)
