We are the Baka Family, a military family currently stationed overseas in Poland since August 2016. We've always viewed each new assignment in the military as an adventure and our adoption journey is much the same. After 12 long months we were finally matched to adopt two boys (brothers- ages 3 & 7) from the country of Poland, but we are currently waiting for Polish Ministry approval and an opportunity to finally travel to meet our boys.
We are seeking all of your prayers and support during this long and trying process, as we hope to raise $20,000 to cover half of our adoption expenses. Most are unaware that an international adoption process can take 18 to 24 months with related costs exceeding $40,000. All financial contributions through AdoptTogether are considered tax deductible and will go a long way in helping our family achieve our goal of adopting these two wonderful boys in Poland.
Our family is excited to share our journey with you. We started on our path to adoption in January 2017, after living in Poland for six months. In August 2017, after many months of preparation and paperwork, we completed our Home Study and Dossier. In November 2017, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) finally approved our family for an International Adoption in Poland. Our Home Study and Dossier were translated into Polish and sent to the Polish Catholic Adoption Committee (CAC) for approval (they are the sole clearing house for all international adoptions in Poland). After two months of waiting, we received approval from the CAC in Warsaw and were immediately matched with two beautiful boys (brothers- ages 3 & 7).
We are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome our boys into our family and our home. We are in a unique situation to be living in the same country as we are adopting from. As a family we have immersed ourselves in the culture, learning the language, and building strong relationships with our Polish neighbors, friends, and church.
