This is something that's been on our hearts for as long as we can remember. We're beyond excited to see how God will grow us and our family through this!
Three years ago in August we started the home study process. Since then, we have completed our home study, waited, updated our home study, and waited again. But August 2023, we matched! We matched with an expectant mama due in November who chose us to be the future family for her baby girl!
We would covet your prayers and support through this time! Please be praying for us as we prepare for this little life to join ours, for her as she continues to grow and develop, and for her mama as she faces the most difficult decisions.
A week and a half ago we got a call from our agency that an expectant mama had picked US! They don't tell you when they're presenting your profile, so we had no idea it was coming! What a surprise for 2pm on a Thursday!
It was also a huge blessing to have the funds available for the initial costs! That said, we still have $16,000 more to go, due in October. While that's still a big number, it's so much less than what we were preparing to expect!

Thank you so much for the prayers and support over this last year!
I realized it had been over a year since I last updated, so I thought it was time to do so!
In December, we finally updated our home study! That took forever, we probably set a record for longest update ever. We also got new family pictures taken before Christmas! We signed on with new consultants over at The Joyful Adoption in January, finished remaking our family's profile book, and went active with Premier Adoptions in February. And it's been a busy few months!
We've had our profile presented well over 10 times in these last months. Sadly, we've yet to be chosen, but we're still hoping and praying that we might match soon.
We are also in the midst of applying (and reapplying) for grants. So far we've been turned down by 3 big ones, and haven't heard back from others. It's an exhausting and, so far, discouraging process.
In better news, between multiple platforms and fundraisers, we've been able to raise about half of what we'll need to be considered "fully funded." For that, we are immensely grateful. Yet, we covet your prayers as we try to make it through that last half!
And to our anonymous donor, thank you again and again for your consistent and uplifting gifts. Words don't describe the encouragement it gives us.

This is an update of updates! We are currently in the midst of renewing our contract with Christian Adoption Consultants, completing out annual update of our home study, as well as updating our profile book that we present to expectant mothers/parents (since all the pictures in it are now over a year old.)
We are also looking into additional agencies to apply with, at our consultants recommendation. So just a whole lot of paperwork going on right now.
I so wish I had something more exciting to update everyone on, but I don't. We are so thankful for each and every one of y'all, and still covet your prayers on this journey.
