Dear Friends and Family,
As may know (or not), January 19, 2018 we welcomed a sweet 13-day old Korean baby boy into our hearts and home. At that time we assumed it would be short term foster child situation to help his mother's get on her feet. Due to circumstances in her life she decided that she would like us to adopt him and give him a forever family.
We have since been pursuing an adoption of Jung Chan, who we affectionately call James.
Last week we received news that the Korean court dismissed our petition without granting the adoption. As a result we are currently his foster parents but not his forever family.
The next step in our adoption journey is an appeal to the judgement. Our legal team feels that we have an excellent case to win on appeal and be granted the adoption.
As our adoption fight continues with the appeal process, the cost is adding up beyond our current means.
We have been asked by friends and family "how can we help", and that is why we have established the AdoptTogether crowdfunding account. AdoptTogether is a tax deductible donation platform that will help us fund the fight to make James forever member of our family.
Anyone who donates will become a part of a wall hanging that I will create for James so that he knows all the love poured into his life.
