Our dream of becoming a family began January 16th, 2012 when we welcomed Joshua Isaac Benson into our arms. We only had 9 minutes with him before he went to be in the loving arms of Jesus. We knew in advance that our time with him would be short, & we did all that we could to embrace his life & to celebrate him. Despite doctor's suggestions to terminate, we chose to enjoy every moment with Joshua through the 8 months of carrying him & our 9 minutes with him in our arms. To continue our dream of building a family, we have pursued domestic adoption through Nightlight Christian Adoptions. We welcomed Elizabeth Grace into our lives in 2012, and only 11 months later we were welcoming Caleb James into our lives. We never could have imagined receiving the gift of two children in less than a year, but it has been an incredible blessing and journey that has made us so grateful and humble to be blessed so richly. As we have been enjoying every moment as a family, we were asked to adopt another baby that Caleb's birth mom had. We were excited to welcome this little guy into our home, but she decided to parent last minute & we did not get to adopt him. We would love to adopt again, & because we have paid the expenses for two adoptions already, we need to fundraise to adopt a third child & hopefully complete our family.
