are adopting a child from Sierra Leone

Dear Friends,

We have been working to adopt two beautiful brothers and we need your help! It has been almost three years since we began this effort to bring Yankuba and James home to our family. The road has been incredibly difficult and frustrating. However, the legal process in Sierra Leone is nearly complete. We have received a fostering order from the Sierra Leone government and are awaiting the legal adoption decree from the High Court of Sierra Leone. Now we need US Immigration to approve the adoptions in order to bring the boys home.

Sadly, our adoption agency dropped our case in April, citing uncertainty with the government and legal process in Sierra Leone. We currently do not have Hague accredited representation and are incapable of processing the required applications for US adoption. This is why we need your help. So many resources were lost when our agency withdrew from our case. We need to hire a new agency. We've started a fundraiser on Adopt Together to raise the funding that we need to make our adoption a success. We have a donations goal of $10,000.00 that will go towards the domestic legal fees, the hiring of a Hague accredited agency, and travel expenses to Africa to bring Yankuba and James home.

Every donation is significant and will help us make this adoption a success. Would you kindly consider making a donation? Also, we would appreciate your willingness to share this with others who may want to participate.

Thank you so much for being a part of our lives and helping accomplish something that's important to all of us!

Love,

Andrea and Jim
