Jamie and I have BIG news and are so excited to share it with all of you!
We are on the journey to grow our family through adoption.
We have been trying to start a family for the last 7 years. Through this journey we have prayed, cried, laughed, been poked and prodded, had countless appointments, seen a number of specialist, went through an ectopic pregnancy, watched friends and family have 1, 2 even 3 babies and through all of that never lost hope that He would fulfill the deepest desires of our hearts.
Even though we had countless conversations about those desires it didn’t hit me until a dear friend asked one simple question- “What is the deepest desire of your heart?” The answer… “to be a mom.” It was the same answer that I had given for the last 7 years. Honestly, I have wanted to be a mom since I was a little girl. When I came home I asked Jamie the same question “what is the deepest desire of your heart?” His response “to be parents!”
It was in that moment that I knew our journey to become parents would be through adoption.
You may be thinking how did that one moment completely change the course?
It’s simple really…
Our desire is to be parents. We want to teach, model, share our passions, challenge and start new traditions. We want to snuggle, and tickle and smell the freshly washed baby hair.
Being parents is so much more than giving birth. Sure- that is an incredible gift and miracle but in our case our gift and miracle would come through an incredibly strong birth mother/family and her/their brave decision to place their child up for adoption and ultimately choose us to be the parents.
Adoption is beautiful! Adoption can be messy. Adoption is expensive. We wholeheartedly believe that the Lord has had this part of our journey planned for years. We trust in Him for everything and He always shows up. So it is no different with the funding of our adoption.
Jamie and I have gotten through the first 2 stages of the adoption process and plan to continue to fundraise until we reach our goal. We pray that you will see how much joy this will bring to our lives and that you find it in your heart to support our adoption journey.
No amount is too small- every little bit helps. We plan to update this page along the journey and of course when we have our sweet baby in our arms.
