is adopting a child from Belize

The backstory.

In 2012 we followed our hearts and God's call to Belize. Before the move we learned of an orphanage that we immediately felt compelled to connect with. During our first year in Belize we visited that orphanage and met a little boy and his sister. We immediately fell in love with them and began to look into adopting them. However, we were informed it wouldn't be possible. The next year we moved to that orphanage to volunteer and met their younger brother who had since moved there. While there we again looked into the possibility of adopting them, and faced another closed door.

In January of 2016 (after having moved back to the states), Sarah was invited back to the orphanage to provide staff training. While there she again was able to spend time with the three kids. She also heard they were legally adoptable. That same week we hired an adoption attorney and started the process. The door was opening! We knew it would be a long, difficult journey, and that it might night work out. But we also new the kids were worth fighting for!

Fast forward to today.

We have confirmation from Belize that the children are legally free for adoption! Our Belizean attorney is starting the paperwork needed for our application with the Supreme Court of Belize.

Now that the process is starting to move more quickly, and with the added expense of trying to adopt three children at once, we are running short on funds.

We hope you will see yourself as part of the community we are building around our children as they grow up. Some of you joined us on our path to Belize back in 2012. We believe that you played an important role in this next step for our family. Because of you we met our future children! Wow!!

If you are inclined to donate to our adoption fund you will earn your choice of a hug or sloppy wet kiss. We would also appreciate your prayers!
