Brian & Quincy W.

are adopting a child from United States of America

We are overjoyed to share that we are adopting a baby.

When we first began trying to grow our family over eight years ago, we never imagined the long and difficult road ahead. After years of infertility, countless appointments, heartbreak, and hope, Quincy was ultimately diagnosed with Endometriosis and underwent a hysterectomy at just 34 years old. While our path to parenthood changed, our dream of becoming parents never did.

Since the end of 2024, we have been working with our amazing consultant from A Step Ahead Adoptions. She has guided us through every unknown, every obstacle, and every emotional high and low with unwavering support. Adoption is a beautiful journey, but it is also an incredibly complex and expensive one. Domestic infant adoptions can range anywhere from $30,000 to $65,000+, with many families ultimately spending between $40,000 and $85,000 once all agency, legal, medical, and living expenses are included.

On October 10, 2025, we received “the call” — we had been matched with an expectant mother due in February 2026. In that moment, it felt like every heartbreak had led us exactly where we were meant to be. We were finally going to become parents. On November 19, 2025, we learned that the adoption plan would not be moving forward. We were devastated and although our hearts were broken, we continue to hope that both mother and baby are safe, healthy, and thriving together.

Even through that loss, we knew we were not ready to let go of our dream. We committed to continuing our adoption journey for one more year. Financially, however, the failed match left us in a difficult position. We had initially taken out a second mortgage on our home so we could pursue opportunities without hesitation. Despite the shorter match period, we still lost nearly one-third of our adoption fund through agency fees, legal costs, and birth mother expenses. Since then, we have applied for grants, sold personal belongings, and done everything we can to rebuild our adoption fund, but we still need help.

Today, we are incredibly grateful to share that we have been matched again!

We have connected with an amazing couple in Kansas, and our sweet baby is due in August 2026. Getting to know them has already been such a gift, and we are filled with hope as we prepare to welcome this precious child into our lives.

Many people have asked over the years how they could support us during this journey, and our answer was always simply: “Be there for us.” We are endlessly thankful for every person who has loved, encouraged, and stood beside us through the hardest moments. Now, for the first time, we are asking for help in another way.

Your donation will help ease the financial burden of this adoption journey so that we can focus fully on bringing our baby home. Funds will go toward travel to Kansas to spend time with our baby’s birth parents before delivery, travel and lodging during the birth in July, adoption-related expenses, and helping us prepare our home and nursery. It will also allow us precious additional time at home bonding with our baby without the overwhelming stress of unpaid time away from work. If we were to receive more than we need, any remaining funds will be donated to another adoptive family pursuing their dream of parenthood.

Whether you are able to support us emotionally, financially, or simply by sharing our story, please know how deeply grateful we are. Thank you for walking beside us on this journey and helping make our dream of becoming parents possible.

All donations made through this page are tax-deductible and will go directly toward adoption-related expenses.
