Dwight Burton

is adopting a child from China

Ni-Hao (pronounced Nee-Haow) means "Hello" in Mandarin.

We are growing our family through adoption from China. So as they say: we're paper pregnant!

We began our paper process in the Fall of 2018 and in April 2019 our HomeStudy was approved - on Dwight's birthday.

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more, with homestudy costs, processing and paperwork fees in the US and in China, home preparations, child passport, visa, medical examinations and post-adoption expenses. This is why we have set a goal of $12,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as she/he grows up.

Even if you can't give at this time, we would greatly appreciate your prayers for us as we move forward, for our agency (HOLT International), for our child and his/her parents.
