Jeff Maddox
is adopting a child from China
Jeff and I have been married for 10 years. He has 2 children from a previous marriage, but we felt our family was not complete. In 2010, we began the process of special needs adoption from China. In June of 2011, we traveled to China to pick up our 16 month old daughter, Kayleigh. She is now a happy, healthy 3 year old who keeps us on our toes! We thought we were a “one and done” family, but in 2012, God revealed He had another plan - yep, we were going back to China. For our first adoption, we had prepared financially, emotionally, and spiritually for 4 years. This adoption has caught us by surprise, especially financially. To complicate matters even further, Jeff, who works for the U.S. Government, saw a 20% decrease in pay due to furloughs. We were unable to save during this time. We have paid all of our agency fees and have about $6000 of our needed money for travel saved, but we still need about $17,000 in order not to go into debt. We are trusting in God&’s provision for this adoption. We know that he has all the financial resources we will ever need and that He will use His people to help us get to China and back with another daughter.
