Hello family, friends & lovers of adoption!
We are absolutely elated to let you know that after nearly a decade of waiting, we are finally, finally, finally adopting!
It has been a very long time coming and we are all thrilled to watch our family grow. Here’s the rundown!
Timing | tentative
We are hoping to become active sometime around June 2019, so the next six months will be filled with lots of reading, paperwork, and the home study process as we do everything we can to prepare for new littles.
Needs | multifaceted
As many of you know, adoption is a costly process: financially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We realize that we cannot possibly answer this calling alone. Adoption, pre- and post-homecoming, is a community effort!
With that in mind, we would like to humbly ask you for a few things:
1) Persistent prayers – for patience and perseverance in the process, unity in our marriage, growing fluency in parenting both existing and future kiddos (!), wisdom in decision-making, and bold love for the birthmama and her family.
2) Creative ideas – we have some of our own, but we would love help planning & pulling off unique fundraising ideas.
3) Generous gifts – the financial cost of adoption is steep: depending on the agency & individual situation, we have been told to expect as much as $50k+! We are cutting back & saving up, and will apply for grants once our homestudy is done, but we are also crowdfunding to help us get there in a timely manner.
It is our sincere hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our little ones as they grow up.
