We are Brooke and Hunter, and WE'RE ADOPTING FROM INDIA! Throughout the last 10 years my (Brooke's) heart and passion for the children of India has grown more and more each day. Through nannying 2 girls from India throughout college, to then investing in a community in India with hundreds of children, the evident need for the children of India to experience love and acceptance has overwhelmed my heart. Since the moment Hunter and I met, my passion for India has quickly become a desire of Hunter's heart as well. The first conversation Hunter and I ever had was centered around my time spent in India. We always knew adoption would become part of our story, and we're so excited for this sweet season to begin!
Why India? Did you know…in India alone there are 30 million orphans? An orphan is classified as a child that has lost one or both of their parents through death or abandonment. As a couple, it has always been our desire to open up our hearts and home to a child in need. With Brooke's experience and understanding of India's culture and the vast number of orphans in the country, it makes perfect sense.
We wish to adopt a child from India to offer a safe, secure, and loving home to a child that is longing to be received. Adoption is our first choice in growing our family because we wish for a child (who may already be waiting for us in India now) to know that they are loved and accepted just as they are. We wish to restore the brokenness they’ve experienced and give them the opportunity to thrive with parents that are committed to helping them grow as a healthy and whole child.
While we know the gift of adopting is so beautiful, it is also very expensive to do so. Here's a breakdown of our upcoming expenses required to adopt:
Application & Home Study: $7,300
Fees from: Agency, State, Filing, Foreign and Training: $10,000
CARA (India's Orphan Database) Registration: $4,500
Referral Acceptance (we are matched with a child!): $7,200
Travel to bring our child home!: $7,000 - $10,000
