We are very excited to be starting our adoption journey!
Since we were dating back in 2012, Julia and I both had a desire to adopt someday, whether we were able to have biological children or not. Being Christians, we believe that adoption is such a beautiful picture of the gospel, that by our faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us on the cross, we have been adopted into God's family and enjoy all the benefits of his Kingdom. We would love to model this reality in even a small way by bringing a child into our family to raise them and love them as our own. Since finding out about infertility in 2020, God has made it even more clear that this is the path he has for us.
As we've prayed through this decision, our hearts have been drawn to open adoption, which means that the birth mother would get to choose how involved she wants to be in the child's life. We've learned how important this is for the child as they grow, to have an understanding of their adoption, and remain connected in some way to their biological family, so we have decided to adopt through the agency Adoption Link. They are an agency that specializes in open adoption of infants in the state of Ohio.
However, as you may know, the cost of the adoption process is high, so we are seeking to raise around $30,000 to help cover the adoption fees. So, we are bringing all of you, our cherished family and friends, into this journey with us to help us make this desire a reality.
