Thanks to all of your generosity, we have very quickly reached our first goal of $3350!**
Once our grant request is approved, we will be able to send those funds to our agency; this means that thanks to your help, Birth Mothers will soon be able to look through our books and DVDs, and hopefully we won't wait long to be chosen!
We are beyond excited to finally announce some BIG news - we are adopting!!
We’ve already shared this news with our families and close friends, but it’s time to make it public and official. We are thrilled to share with all of you that we will soon begin building our family by adopting a newborn through domestic adoption!
Those of you who know us probably know that we love children and have always wanted to have a family. What some of you may not know is that we have struggled with infertility for the past six years; despite multiple fertility treatments and testing that has shown no medical cause for our situation, we have been unable to conceive. This, along with the desire to provide a loving home for a child in need of one, is what has brought us to adoption.
At this point in our adoption journey, we have completed all of our paperwork and our home study has been officially approved - we’ve made our portfolio books and DVDs, and even have our nursery just about ready to bring our little one home when the time finally comes! We're doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home.
While we have significantly changed our spending habits and have taken on second jobs for the time being, we still struggle to save much money due to necessary medical costs for our first baby - our super sweet dog, Watson, who suffers from severe epilepsy and requires a boatload of meds to keep his seizures in check. He also requires more frequent veterinary visits and the occasional, unavoidable ER visit.
Asking for help is hard, but we have made the decision to start this crowdfunding campaign in the hopes that you’d like to help us to raise the funds necessary to cover some of our adoption related costs. This is why we have set a goal of $15,500 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
