After 15 years together and now celebrating 10 years of marriage, we are thrilled and excited to be starting a family through the gift of adoption. It has taken several years to get to this point; for years we enjoyed our partnership of two, then slowly our desire to have children grew into a longing for something we likely wouldn&'t achieve traditionally. It did not take long for us to choose to adopt, however. There are so many children in this world in need of a loving home and we have plenty of love to give. Although a costly and emotionally challenging endeavor, adoption is an obvious and natural choice for us and an exciting opportunity. Certainly a large influence in our decision has also been the cases of adoption that we have witnessed where we have seen beautiful families made complete. We know that our hearts have been opened to adoption and that we are meant for greater things. We do not go down this path alone however, and we certainly recognize the blessings that we have received which make this adoption possible. We are so thankful for the future birth mother of our child, wherever and whomever she may be; for the courage and selflessness that has led her to adoption. And we are so grateful for the amount of love our friends and family have already given us, which is so crucial to this process.
