We have BIG news… we're adopting!!!
We are really excited and are doing everything we can, to be ready to welcome a little one into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may be surprising to hear, but adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. We have been working to save money, as well as doing other fundraisers. But we have set a goal of $4,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, and sharing our adoption journey with you, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
A little about our family:
We have been together for 8 years now, and married for 5 of those years. We love spending time with our families and enjoy making every day an adventure. Our little family consists of the two of us, and our two dogs Reggie and Duke, who are as excited as we are to add a little human to our family.
We found out 4 years ago that we are unable to have children, and have spent the time since then deciding how we would grow our family. We decided to become foster parents, and grow our family thru foster to adoption… however God had other plans for us. And after much talk and consideration, our path lead us to Catholic Social Services. Which is also the organization that Matt was adopted from 41 years ago. We actually dropped off our application and first payment on the same day that Matt was picked up from them all those many years ago.
Right now we are on their list, and waiting to be chosen by a birth mom! :)
