Hello Friends, Family, and Friends of Friends!
Our family is embarking on the incredible adventure of adopting, and we know we cannot do it alone. We fully believe in the value of community and the beauty and gift of adoption. We are inviting you to join with us through prayer and financial support, in whatever way you are able.
Fun fact: Before we even started dating (11 years ago!), our very first conversation was about both of our hearts to one day adopt and to see a fatherless nation be fathered (and mothered). We believe the time is now for our family, and we are saying yes to this part of our story. We are currently working with Family Services of Forsyth County to adopt an infant from North Carolina. We have finished and finalized our home study, and are currently in the "waiting to be matched" phase! This could take anywhere from weeks to over a year.
It may surprise you to hear that our (remaining) adoption related costs will be approximately $20,000. (Many people wonder why adoption is so expensive, and it is because the process to legally adopt a baby requires the involvement of attorneys, social workers, physicians, government administrators, adoption specialists, counselors, and more!)
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. We will post updates along the way to let everyone know what is happening with the adoption process.
