A year ago, our family realized we were missing something in our home and knew it was a child. While we could have another biological child, God put it on our hearts to instead open our home to a child in need of a family. We weren't sure where this would take us, so we started consulting with a few different adoption agencies. Through a series of meetings, discussions and a lot of prayer, we decided on adopting internationally. We took our time looking into different countries and always found ourselves circling back to India.
As of right now, we have finished our home study and are on our way to finishing our dossier and hopefully receiving our referral soon. We are so excited to be making progress on our adoption and feel incredibly blessed to have so many people supporting us through prayer and encouragement. We cannot express how thankful we are for this support. As we are entering the next phase, we are also faced with the next round of fees and expenses. This can be daunting at times, but God has provided so far and we believe He will through to the end. We have had friends ask us how else they can support us through this process.
First, we need continued prayer that we would be open to Gods voice while in this process and clarity when reviewing potential children. Second, your continued encouragement is vital, there are days when the process seems endless. Last, we are looking for some people to partner with us financially. The Bible calls us to help the widows and orphans (Psalms 68:5, Psalm 82:3, Isaiah 1:17, James 1:27). While adopting a child may not work for your family, a financial contribution could be your way of partnering with us to help fulfill God's call.
