We have BIG Cain family news! Many of you know by now…but in case you haven't heard:
We are adopting again!
We have already identified a handsome, sweet _ 11 year old boy in Vietnam _ and are in the process of gathering all the paperwork to bring him home. We are so excited to welcome another son into our family. We would be lying if we didn't say that it's scary and thrilling at the same time! We are working with Holt International as our placing agency and Family Connections Christian Adoptions as our home study agency (we can't use Holt because Carolyn works for them and we needed an impartial agency).
In case you don't know us, Brian is a pastor here in Central California and Carolyn is a part-time international adoption social worker for Holt. We have five children: Sami (23), KK (22), Tessa (20), Ellie (17) and Levi (10). Two of our kids were adopted from China many years ago.
Yes, we admit it's a strange time for us to adopt. In the natural, we are getting older (we are 56 and 54 years old) and we have three children in college and preparing another one to launch in another year or two. It surely doesn't seem like the best timing logically, but God doesn't always move us to do things always make sense to us (can I get an AMEN, here?!). And so we step forward in obedience with excitement in our hearts, and full of faith that this is His plan.
Many people have asked us what they can do to help. Obviously, we need major prayer covering throughout this journey. We are also actively pursuing fundraising opportunities and grants that are available. It's definitely a humbling process because the costs are daunting. But Brian coined this phrase during our first two adoptions and we cling to it today: Lord's will, Lord's bill.
All costs considered, we will need to raise around $25,000. This includes agency fees, home study costs, international fees, travel and many other miscellaneous pieces that are all a part of the process. We are once again trusting that God will provide. People have asked how they can help and this is one way where you can help us. Donations made through our Adopt Together profile are tax deductible (which is why we chose this platform)._
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our son as he grows up. We will update this site with our progress along the way. We know you are on this journey with us and we so greatly appreciate you and your support of our family. You are so loved!
