To all those assisting in my journey… Words cannot express the gratitude our family has for those of you setting aside the time to look at this fundraising page. You are helping in the initial steps to bring my little one home from China and join those who have loved and cared for her from afar. I am a single, potential adoptive mother. My little one waiting in China is going to be my first child and I look forward to both of us learning to be a mother and a daughter at the same time. After many arduous (and sometimes heartbreaking) months, I have been matched with a 3-year old girl named Elizabeth. Bettie has some health issues including cleft lip and palate (primary surgery has been completed) along with some weakness in her left side. I know that with the love and support of her close and extended family she will thrive once in our loving arms. I am fortunate to maintain a stable career as a high school science teacher. Although I consider myself lucky, adoption is expensive. While I have the financial ability to care for the regular, month-to-month expenses of a child, I do not have an extra $34k in the bank to cover the expenses associated with adoption. I am hoping to do this debt free, and since many of my friends, colleagues, and family have expressed a desire to contribute to the adoption I am very excited to be partnering with AdoptTogether to make your gifts tax-deductible.
