We are adopting a baby!
Growing a family through adoption is a choice that entails joyful anticipation as well as heart-breaking loss - it is our prayer that you, our friends and family, will walk along side us as we start this journey to bring our child home.
While some might believe that adoption involves buying a child from a birth family, the reality is that adoption fees include things such as legal fees, home-study assessments, professional counseling for the birth family, state and federal fingerprinting, and much more - birth families do not receive payment for choosing to place a child with an adoptive family. With this said, adoptions can cost up to $40,000 and while some adoptive couples may have the resources, others rely on the help of their friends and family through fundraising.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
Our Story:
Early on in our marriage, we discussed the desire to adopt after we had a biological child, but as young newlyweds, we weren't quite ready to add a baby to the mix. After nine years of marriage, we both felt the nudge to expand our family. Five years and multiple losses later, it has become clear to us why God put adoption on our hearts.
We know this will be both an exciting and terrifying adventure, full of all sorts of ups and downs, and we cannot do it alone. We are beyond blessed to have an amazing community of adoptive families supporting us as we prepare for parenthood, and we are so thankful for any support you are willing to provide as we continue on this amazing new journey!
