I have always known that I would adopt a child; I just did not know when. The desire to adopt started in high school. There was always a spark of emotion when I would work with children and their families, so I began to look for multiple ways to serve. I fell in love with the refugee community and began to form close friendships with families from Africa and started to help their children with schoolwork and transport their children to various school and sports events. Many times I was alone in the stands cheering for these children and their team…it was during these moments that the Lord spoke louder than anything. It was here when God began to speak clearly and loudly about adoption. Around this same time, I was blessed with the opportunity to purchase the home next to my parents and began to have these children over for Bible study once a week. Mentoring these children gave new meaning and a sense of fulfillment to my call to adopt a child. I knew during those nights of leading Bible study and mentoring these children that the Lord had His hands on my entire life preparing me to be an adopted mother.
As soon as I connected with my agency, Adoption Assistance, I knew this was the place for me and I have never had any doubts going forward. I am now home study approved to adopt a child 0-4 domestically and looking forward to the ways God is going to guide my steps along this journey.
The Lord has chosen a little one to join my family and I cannot wait to see how He fulfills this plan for my life and share the news with you! Thank you will never be enough for your prayers and support! May God bless you for being a part of my little one's village!
I submitted my profile book and home study for my first time to a birth family. I was not chosen as a match, but I am humbled that I was even considered and reviewed. It bought so many emotions as I covered this family in prayer. I am not sad as I know the Lord knows best and He has already chosen a little one for my family. My prayer during these moments will always be that the Lord will surround the family during their review process and as they make the hard decisions. I ask that you will lift up the birth families as I wait for a match. I cannot imagine the emotions the families are experiencing and pray that my profile book may simply shine a small light for the Lord and how He loves them so.
