Jessica & Ken

are adopting a child from United States of America

We have BIG news!!!

We are adopting an embryo!

You read correctly, we are adopting an embryo!

1 in 8 couples suffer with infertility. We are the 1 in 8. After much research and prayer we have deciced to adopt embryos. There are about 1 million frozen souls on ice just waiting to be matched with their mommy and daddy.

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that traditional adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more and embryo adoption can total around $15-20,000. This is why we have set a goal of $15,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We have been trying for 5 years this coming May. The doctors can not figure out what the issue is for us. I have been on different medications, undergone 3 IUI cycles, gone through different tests, had a surgery, and cried everytime my cycle started when I just knew I was pregnant. The signs of your time of the month mimic early pregnancy signs. Who knew?? Unexplained infertiity has been torture for me (Jessica) as I want to fix everything.

Our insurance does not cover any infertility treatment so everything has been out of pocket. We have already spent over $13,000. This adoption is going to cost us from $15-20,000 just to get the embryos. After we get the embryos and transfer them into my uterus then we will have to pay a deductible which right now is $10,500 however I think I can lower it a litttle before pregnancy through our medical sharing plan. I own my own small business so I do not have maternity leave and will have to pay for my time off. My income in the primary income for our famiy.

We have been saving since before we started trying. We have enough for my time off as well as part of the deductible. We are continuing to save.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.

Please help us bring home the baby we have always longed for!!

****March 2019 UPDATE****

We mailed our application on February 26!! We are so excited. The next step is the homestudy. We have been contacted by the owner to start the process. Keep praying prayer warriors!!

Also I have lowered the amount we are raising as we have had a few people send us a check not through this site. If people chose to send us a check directly it will be taken off of our goal here.

****April 2019 UPDATE****

What a whirlwind of a month!! We have been busy running to doctor's appointments to make sure we are physically fit enough to be parents Hahaha Who knew? I'm still trying to find a new doctor as the clinic I was going to unexpectedly closed. We have had FBI background checks, state background checks, and are currently waiting for the results of our child abuse/neglect checks. I think we have finally finished filling out all the paperwork required for our homestudy. April 27th the social worker will be here to do our homevisit. (I really need emojis to show you how I feel hahahah) We are trying to get our home ready inside and out.

We wrote our letter about our family. That was the hardest thing to do in 3 pages. Our photobook that will be shown to potential families is completed and has been sent off to the agency. I ordered a copy for us because I get excited to think we will be able to show that to our child(ren) and explain that is the book we used to help their biological family chose us.

We are also getting ready for our garage sale on May 4th. We have received lots of good donations and my sister has been a great help! We are hoping for a big turnout as the next phase of money ($6800) is going to be due here real soon. If you feel lead you can click the donate button and make a tax deductible donation.

On top of all that we also have had 2 other major things happening at the same time. Please pray for this time as we are really busy in this season of life. I just keep telling myself I'm being prepared/seasoned for parenthood. -Much Love, Jessica

****May 2019 update****

So much has happened this month I feel like it has been 6 months since my last update. We had our garage sale and made $689.50. I kept a few things I felt I could sell and make money on and so far have made $82 more dollars. My sister decided to sell fire and ice pickles and banana puddings to her village and has managed to raise $728 as well. She also organized a fundraiser selling bundt cakes and we made $261. I have adjusted the amount we are trying to raise accordingly.

While all this was going on we had a family situation arise and have had to go through another homestudy through CPS. Good thing the house was already ready. The CPS study was way more intense, didn't think that was possible, compared to the adoption homestudy we went through. Of course we passed that one as well.

While all this has been going on I have been opening up a business with a business partner and friend. That has been going on since June of last year. It has been a lot of work however it will and has been worth it. Our opening day was June 3rd. I ask for prayers that doctors start sending over orders soon.

The biggest news of all this month came on May 14th when we received an email that A FAMILY HAD CHOSEN US!!!! We are now praying for Cheryl and Samuel and ask that you do the same. It is so nice to have names to pray specificaly for. They have 8 embryos for us and now we are just trying to get all the medical information squared away as well as the legal paperwork. The next amount that we have to pay is $3400 and we are still short $1100. I know I have had people tell me they want to donate and they haven's had a chance to yet. Here is your chance. All donations through this site are tax deductible. If you are not comfortable using this site contact me and we can work out other arrangements. :) –Much love, Jessica

****June 2019 Update****

June was a quiet month in regards to the adoption. We are still waiting on the medical information regarding the egg donor. Praying the medical release gets signed so documentation can be released. Still working on saving and raising funds. We are currently $900 short of our next goal (paying off the agency). We will still need to raise funds to pay the specialist for the frozen embryo transfer. I'm thinking of it one step at a time. :) Thank you to those who are supporting in different ways. Much love, Jessica
